THE THANKGIVINGS DAY
Is a national holiday celebrated primarily in the United States and Canada as a day of giving thanks for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year. Several other places around the world observe similar celebrations. It is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November in the UNITED STATES and on the second Monday of October IN CANADA. Although it is celebrated in many countries more.
But there are a lot os different stories about their origins depending of the country, but finally all the stories are for the same reason. In Spain, this day it's called "Dia de Accion de Gracias".
The people normally meet together to dinner and have fun all the family or friends, the usually eat a large roasted turkey or baked which is tradionally accompanied with cornbread and served with jelly sauce.

Besides vegetable dishes are usually served like green beans, sweet potato and mashed potatoes with gravy; also usually served a variety of desserts, pie being the most popular pumpkin.
